Have you ever wished you could start your life over?  Have you ever wanted to receive a new life so that every thing that was bad or is bad in your life would go away, and that everything that was good and is good in your life you would be able to do again? 

There are times in every one’s life that are so bad we want to just end it all.  And then there are times in our life that things are so good that we think to ourselves ‘it can’t get any better than this’.  And then, of course there’s every day in between where we just don’t think.  We don’t think about life, we don’t think about death, we just go about our daily routine hoping that when it’s all said and done our life would have meant something, or possibly would have made a difference in this world.

The fact is that bad times never go away.  Life is filled with both ups and downs, and just as the Bible says is like a vapor, It’s here one minute, gone the next.  The best things that we can accomplish in this life will only one day be a memory. If we want our life to mean something, if we want our life to make a difference in this world then we need something in our life that is beyond this world.  The Bible records the words of Jesus when he spoke on this subject.  Jesus said, “I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”. 

When Jesus – the Son of God – came to this earth as a mere human, what he accomplished on this earth can be more than just a memory in our life.  It can be the very thing that gives us hope when life seems hopeless. It can be the very thing that brings meaning to all the good times that we experience.  Jesus came to this earth to pay the price for the sins of those who live on this earth. 

The Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” and that the wages, or “price” of sin is death.  If we are to live life on this earth more abundantly, and if we are to have eternal life in heaven with Jesus Christ, then we must realize that we need to live our life here on earth with Jesus, or we will be separated from him through out all of eternity.  To live every day of our life, trying to be more like the way Jesus Christ lived, when he was on this earth; whether it is one of the worst days of our life, whether it is one of the best days of our life, or whether it is just one of those ordinary routine days. 

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” 

(John 3:16)
