Greetings to the awesome Senior “Classics” of The Worship Center

March, 2008:  I hope everyone who went on the Lunch Cherry Blossom Boat Cruise down the Potomac River had an enjoyable time.  Thanks to Ronnie Beach for being our driver and to Mary Oliphant for beautiful pictures which she shared with me.  If any Senior would like one or more of these pictures, please contact me.

April, 2008:  My 11-day missions trip to Johannesburg, S. Africa was an awesome experience which I shall never forget!  The door was open for the gospel everywhere we went.  Thanks so much to everyone who prayed for our Book of Hope Team as we ministered.  I will be sharing a DVD which is a composite of the pictures which all 14 team members took (compiled by our missionary leader) along with my report of the trip at the next Women’s Ministry meeting scheduled for Wednesday, May 28 at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  Everyone who made Hope bracelets, prayed, and sent gift items for the children were a part of this missions outreach!  We distributed 1706 book of hope gospels and over 2,000 hope bracelets. Check out the Worship Center website at www.worship-center.org to view some pictures of my trip.  Also, there was a full-page ad about Book of Hope in this past week’s Pentecostal Evangel.  Check it out!

May, 2008 Activity:  Our activity for May was a church service at Long Term Care Nursing & Rehab Center on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 2:15 p.m.  Thanks to the following who came:  Paul and Macy Santmyer, Ronnie and LaNeta Beach, June Madigan, and Aaron Hall (who played the piano for us).  The devotion was on Hope and the residents seemed very appreciative of our ministry.  I encourage any Senior who does not work fulltime to join these services.

Also many of our Senior “Classics” ladies attended our annual Mother’s Day brunch held Saturday, May 10th at 10:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  I pray each lady was blessed.

June, 2008 Activity:  If you would like to take another Seniors day trip in the month of June please contact me by Monday, June 16th.  The next available date to use our shuttle bus which holds 15 passengers is June 28th.  Places we could visit are Baltimore’s Inner Harbor & Aquarium (along with dolphin show) which charges $8.00 admission.  They have many shops and restaurants.  Also, we could visit Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pa. which is app. 3 hours drive.  Seniors are admitted for $14.00.  This is a large garden and conservatory of beautiful flowers, plants, topiary, fountains, etc.  Two restaurants are on-site.  There are no new shows at Sight & Sound.  If you have a suggestion, please let me know right away.

Pray for one another:  I trust that you pray for one another and I am asking for continued special prayer for healing for Rob Arnold, Irene Ericksen, Darlene Frye, Shelia Henry and Evelyn Hough.

Blessings.  Charlotte Howard, Director
