Worship Center Library

Standard Operating Procedures

Hours of Operation: The library will be open on Sundays for one hour after service and on Wednesdays an hour before the Pastor’s Bible Study.  Other times can be arranged by calling one of the librarians.

Eligible Users: Anybody that is a regular attendee of the church services or those 12 years old or older who are related to such persons.  Parents or siblings who meet these criteria may check out materials for younger children.

Limit on Items Checked Out: There is a three item limit on items being checked out by any individual at one time.  This includes books, CD’s, DVD’s, and magazines.

Borrowed Time Period: Materials are checked out for a period of three weeks and may be renewed for another three week period if no one has requested the book. Returned material may be placed in one of the baskets on the table outside the library or given to one of the librarians if the library is open.  There are no fines for overdue books; however, a notification will be made via email or phone when an item has passed its due date.

Reserved Items: Items can be placed on reserve by signing the reserve list located in the library or notifying one of the librarians.  When available, the item(s) requested will be placed on the table outside the library with the requester’s name and the individual will be notified via email or phone.

Information Needed for Checking Out Items: If a librarian is not available, patrons must fill in an index card containing their name, email address or phone number, the date, and the item(s) and its four-letter category abbreviation.  This index card should be then placed in the file box.

How Items are Placed in the Library:  Items in the library are arranged by categories.  Within a category, they are arranged alphabetically by author’s last name.
