Senior Classics
The purpose of the Senior Classics is to encourage those in our church who are 55 and over to participate in activities that foster spiritual growth and health, age-level educational pursuits, evangelistic outreach, and wholesome fellowship events. We want to promote strong focal points of need so that people may be involved in an area that interests them.
Greetings to the awesome Senior “Classics” of The Worship Center!
June, 2013
Thanks so much to Gerri Beach, Millie Pratt, Eleanor Marshall and Mary Moody who attended the church service we had at the Inova Loudoun Long Term Care & Rehab Center in Leesburg on June 26th. We had more residents attend this service than I can ever remember! Thanks for your support. It is appreciated more than you know.
July, 2013
Vacation Bible School is July 16-20. Thanks to all the Senior “Classics” who have volunteered to help in some way. You can still sign up to help or provide snacks, etc. This is one of our largest outreaches to children from our church and community.
Reminder regarding Family Camp – We are going to the first night of family camp on Sunday, July 21st in Falling Waters, W. Va. (about an hour away.) We will take the church shuttle bus and leave at 3:30 PM from the church. Ronnie Beach has agreed to drive us. We will stop for dinner at a steakhouse close to the campgrounds and then attend the church service at 6 PM. The speaker is Evangelist Mike Amico. If you plan to attend, please bring money for dinner and an offering at church and let me know immediately so I can arrange extra transportation if we need it. We should be home by 10 PM. Don’t miss this opportunity to worship with fellow believers from all across our District.
August, 2013
If you would like to attend another baseball game with Frederick Keys in Frederick, Md. please let me know and I will check their schedule for August and arrange for advance seats and tickets on a Saturday afternoon. I really enjoyed the last game and fireworks display. Let me know as soon as possible please.
November, 2013
The Gaither Vocal Band has scheduled a concert for Saturday, November 23rd @ the Hylton Memorial Chapel in Woodbridge, Va. Woodbridge is probably an hour+ away. I know it is early to be thinking about going but their concerts are always a sellout and I will need to order tickets right away. Let me know if you are interested in going.
We will have our annual Thanksgiving Banquet @ 12 noon on Saturday , November 23rd in the church Fellowship Hall. Mark your calendar.
2014
Sight and Sound Theatre in Lancaster, Pa. has a new show coming in 2014 called “Moses.” If you think you would like to attend, contact me and I will check ticket availability and prices. The tickets usually begin @ $49 depending on seating. If enough indicate an interest in going we will arrange a day trip to have lunch and see the show. It is not too early to let me know if you are interested.
If you have any specific ideas for what we can do together in August, let me know and I will take your ideas under consideration. I am always thinking about health issues concerning a lot of walking, etc. Please continue to prioritize ministry as well as having fun and get involved as you can. Also please pray for one another. Love to each one of you.
Blessings. Charlotte Howard, Director
